a veil

Even though I'm going the birdcage route - this is a very refreshing option for a veil - the netting, the trim - I love the vintage vibe.

We're not doing favors for our wedding but I may definitely have to consider these beauties for perhaps the small rehersal dinner we're having? Isn't the packaging awesome?

100 Layer Cake...

Is a brand spankin' new wedding blog full of gorgeous eye candy from one of my favorite bloggers, Kristina and some of her equally amazing friends. I love it already!

Mmm if it's anything close to Kristina's fabulous style, it's going to be a great resource for all brides to be! Go check it out here

invitation overload

I'm in major wedding planning mode at the moment. My wedding isn't until the end of August, but as a DIYer I need time. I'm not a designer, I don't know how to use fancy graphics programs all that well, and I'm completely indecisive. Which is why I am currently suffering from invitation overload!

I wish I could just hand them off to somebody, because frankly, I can't decide what I want to do. Well, actually my lack of expertise in letterpress and screenprinting is what's really holding me back. But you see, I also have a slight complex - I want to say that I did them myself. To have the satisfaction that I can create something wonderful.

So here are just a FEW of my many inspirations - how they will translate into an invitation is still to be determined. Stay tuned.

be mine valentine

The Kate Spade site seriously has some great stuff on it! Go check out these great emailable (is that a word?) valentines. Or use it as inspiration to make your own.

crafting

Fact: I'm getting married this August.

Another fact: I LOVE details. And I plan on obsessing over the "fun" details of napkins, flowers, paper, etc. by doing most of the work myself!

One project that never came to fruition was something very much along the lines of these and these. I cried out loud when I saw them, they were exactly what I had wanted!

They were printed by the very talented Lucky Luxe. If only I had found her sooner!

Alas, I now have a ton of handkerchiefs and was trying to find a way to incorporating them into our wedding. Of course Once Wed had the solution! Aren't these charming? I think I'll hang them on sheperd's hooks to line the ceremony aisle - and decorate the brick walls of our reception loft.

balloons

It seems balloons, although once only appropriate for those ages 7 and under, are suddenly emerging everywhere. And I LOVE it! Don't they put a smile on your face?

vintage southern charm

Amy of Old Sweet Song posted some amazing wedding inspired collages over at Once Wed. I wonder what my wedding would look like a la Amy?

This one is my favorite. Which is yours?

a charming idea

I got extremely excited when I came across The Jolly Postman on oh, hello friend. I had all but forgot about this delightful book from my childhood. Ahh, how I love this book, full of little notes from fantastic friends (or so I liked to pretend).

My excitement continued when I saw what was inspired by my beloved childhood read. Danni's book of notes for her husband is a charming and fantastic idea -- that I fully admit I am going to steal and create a similar version to give to Jon on our wedding day.

paper and string

I have an affinity for anything made with a paper and string. Especially these adorable valentines from Purl Bee. There's even a tutorial on how to make them! Check it out here
